Help and contact

Hummlist is a shared shopping list for one household. Whatever one person adds, everyone else in the household sees right away. Hummlist sorts each item into its category. It runs on iPhone and Android.

How to get help

Who is responsible for Hummlist is in the imprint. How Hummlist handles your data is in the privacy policy.

Common questions

What happens with my email address?

We use it for the waitlist and the beta invite, and, if you ticked the box, for one email when the app launches. For the invite it goes to Apple or Google. Details are in the privacy policy.

How do I install the beta on iPhone?

Your invite comes by email from Apple (TestFlight), sent to the address you used for the waitlist. First, get Apple's free TestFlight app from the App Store. Then open the invite email on your iPhone, tap the button in it, and install Hummlist in TestFlight. There's no public link.

How do I install the beta on Android?

Your invite email has a "Join the beta" button. Open it on your phone, with the Play Store signed in to the same Google account as the email address the invite went to. Accept there, then install Hummlist from the Play Store. After that, updates arrive as normal Play Store updates.

I signed up with the wrong email. What now?

The invite only works with the email of your Apple ID (iPhone) or Google account (Android). Just sign up again on hummlist.com/en with the right address.

My invite hasn't arrived. What can I do?

Check your spam folder, and in Gmail the Promotions tab too. We send invites in waves. On iPhone, the TestFlight email comes from Apple, not from Hummlist. If it's still missing, write to support@hummlist.com.

How do I invite my partner?

Tap More, then Invite your partner. Share the link or the code. An invite is valid for one person. You can revoke open invites there too.

How do I join a household with a code?

Open the invite link you received, or tap More, then Join another household, and enter the code. Hummlist shows you which household you are joining first. If you are brand new, choose Join household right after signing in.

How do I export my data?

Tap More, then Account and Export my data. You get everything stored about you as a JSON file.

How do I delete my account?

Tap More, then Account and Delete account, and confirm by typing DELETE. Your account, your profile, your access tokens and connected apps are deleted right away. If others stay in the household, they keep the list; your items stay there without your name. If you are the last member, the whole household is deleted, Hummlist Lifetime included; the purchase can't be moved to another household. Whether you can get your money back is under "Can I get a refund for Hummlist Lifetime?". Households you archived are deleted too. If others stay in the household, Hummlist Lifetime stays with them. Deleted data stays in our encrypted backups for up to 90 more days, then it is gone there too.

Without the app: write to support@hummlist.com.

What happens to Hummlist Lifetime if I leave a household as its last member?

Hummlist Lifetime belongs to the household and does not move with you. If you leave a household with Hummlist Lifetime as its last member, it is deleted. The app warns you first: Hummlist Lifetime ends with the household. For refunds, see "Can I get a refund for Hummlist Lifetime?".

Can I get a refund for Hummlist Lifetime?

You buy Hummlist Lifetime from Apple or Google, not from us. So:

If a purchase is refunded, the unlock ends for the household it was bought for, for all its members, unless the household bought Hummlist Lifetime more than once.

Our refunds after the 48 hours are voluntary. They don't affect your statutory rights, also after the 48 hours, for example if Hummlist Lifetime doesn't work as described or if you can withdraw from the purchase. You have these rights against Apple or Google, who sell you Hummlist Lifetime; details are in Apple's terms or Google Play's terms. Feel free to write to us in that case too; we'll help.

How do I turn off usage data?

Tap More, then Usage data, and turn off Send usage data and error reports. From then on the app sends nothing to PostHog. You can turn it back on at any time.

Can I add items with Siri?

Yes, with a Shortcut you set up once yourself in the Shortcuts app. Right now this only works in German; the guide Hummlist with Siri explains why and links to the German setup steps. Apple turns your speech into text; we only receive the text, not a recording. Section 7 of the privacy policy has the details. Using Siri with Hummlist without a Shortcut is planned but not available yet.

Can I add items with Alexa?

Yes, with the Hummlist skill for Amazon Alexa. Enable it in the Alexa app and link it to your Hummlist account. Then say, for example, "Alexa, ask Hummlist to add milk and eggs" or "Alexa, ask Hummlist what's on the list". The skill understands English and German, depending on the language your Alexa device is set to. To end the connection, disable the skill in the Alexa app or disconnect Amazon Alexa in Hummlist under More → Access. The skill is still in a beta test and not yet available to everyone; Peter sends you the invitation link. The guide Hummlist with Alexa explains more.

Can I use Hummlist with an AI assistant?

Yes, with AI assistants that can add their own MCP servers, through Hummlist's MCP server. Whether your assistant can, and on which plan, is up to its provider. There's a step-by-step guide for Claude. Tap More, then Access. The MCP server's address is shown there. You connect the assistant by signing in or with an access token. Under Connected apps and Access tokens you see every connection and can revoke it at any time.

I test Hummlist through TestFlight or Google Play. What should I know?

Hummlist is still in a closed test for family and friends. On iPhone the app comes through TestFlight, on Android through Google Play's internal test; updates arrive there by themselves. Peter sends you the invite link to the test. Bugs and ideas are best sent straight from the app with Send feedback.
